Our story
Matchmaking chefs with private host homes and high-level business opportunities is what Executive Chefs at Home does best.
During his time working for Chef Daniel Boulud’s Dinex Group, most recently as the Executive Chef of Boulud Sud, Brian Arruda and his business partner continued to work closely with their wider network of chefs by helping them establish their own websites, recipe portfolios and online presences. The passion project grew more quickly than they could imagine, and soon they found themselves with a broad network of professionals around the country.
After COVID-19 hit and left many of them without work, Brian sought out to help his former colleagues and industry connections to find work with private families around the greater NYC Metropolitan area.
Today, Executive Chefs at Home has grown far beyond NYC and has since expanded to placed hospitality professionals in private residence.

Founder & CEO
Brian Arruda grew up in Stonington, CT, where, like many chefs, his first job was washing dishes. This marked the start of his culinary journey where Brian developed his passion for the restaurant industry.
Brian went on to graduate from the Culinary Institute of America. After graduation he traveled the country working for acclaimed chefs such as Charlie Palmer, José Andrés, Mario Batali, Thomas Keller and Daniel Boulud, working his way from prep cook to an Executive Chef.
In September of 2019, Brian moved to New York City transitioning from Executive Chef at Bar Boulud in Boston to Executive Chef at Boulud Sud, where he found the opportunity to explore the cuisine of not just France, but the entire Mediterranean. Along this journey, Brian has made many lifelong friends and built a large network of hospitality professionals. Today these relationships have played a significant role in the growth of Executive Chefs at Home and its network within the culinary world.

Joe grew up in hospitality with his father owning fine dining restaurants and bars in Upstate New York, and by the end of high school, he had worked in or learned every position in the restaurant. Four years later, Joe graduated from ASU’s W.P Carey School of Business with a degree in Business Management. During college, he worked his way up to a supervisor position at Levy Restaurants, working in private clubs on the suite level for the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks and Arizona Coyotes professional sports teams. Following graduation, he moved to Las Vegas and began his career with MGM Resorts, starting at the Mirage as a Beverage Manager before being selected to open the Forbes five-star Aria Resort as a Department Head in Catering and Banquets. Currently, Joe is a partner in a successful entertainment bar concept with locations in multiple states, as well as working with the amazing team behind Executive Chefs at Home to become the premier chef placement agency in the nation.
our partners
We partner with The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to help find loving and permanent homes for children in foster care through it’s signature program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids®.
The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is the only public nonprofit charity in the United States that is focused exclusively on foster care adoption. Through its signature program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids®, the Foundation provides grants to adoption agencies to hire recruiters who use an evidence-based, child-focused recruitment model to find loving, permanent homes for children waiting in foster care. The Foundation works closely with child welfare advocates and policymakers, provides free resources about foster care adoption and raises awareness through social media campaigns, public service announcements and events.
We are thrilled to be partnering with this organization that has not only positively impacted the lives of so many children and families across the country, but has also had a huge personal effect on Executive Chefs at Home Founder Brian Arruda.
“After spending seven years of my childhood in foster care, I was adopted by an amazing family that changed my life in a way that I could never put into words. It was through this family that I discovered my passion for cooking, and after building a successful career for myself, I decided it was time to help other children out of foster care and into their forever families’ homes.”
— Brian Arruda, Founder of Executive Chefs at Home
